Hammond 1455NC2201 220mm Channel Mount Enclosure, Aluminum End Plates

The 1455NC2201 is a 220 mm clear anodized extruded aluminum channel mount enclosure, designed to house P.C. boards or equipment and to mount easily to aluminum channel. It is aimed at OEM engineers, panel builders and integrators who want an enclosure that fastens to a channel with T-bolts and T-nuts. At 220 mm it is the longest 1455NC enclosure, giving the most board length in the range while keeping the 103 mm x 53.01 mm cross-section of the 120 mm and 160 mm models.

The body is a rugged one-piece extrusion with a minimum wall thickness of .09" (2.29 mm); the drawing specifies extruded aluminum 6063. This is the open-bezel version: aluminum end plates (drawing outline 95.02 mm x 45.00 mm [3.741 in x 1.772 in], 1.50 mm [0.059 in] thick) sit inside open plastic bezels, and both the extruded body and the end plates are clear anodized. The plastic-end-cap equivalent is 1455NC2202.

Nominal size is 8.66 in x 4.06 in x 2.09 in (220 mm x 103 mm x 53 mm), and the series table gives 220.00 mm long x 103.00 mm wide x 53.01 mm high. P.C. boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots in the body. The series sizes the enclosure for boards 92 mm (min) to 98 mm (max) wide and notes it will not accept, and was not designed for, 100 mm wide eurocard; the part listing gives a maximum board size of 219 mm x 99 mm.

The assembly includes extrusion, plastic bezels, end panels, #6 Taptight screws and self adhesive rubber feet, with eight (8) clear zinc-plated assembly screws; recommended screw torque is 5 lbf/in. It is rated IP54, RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 1.36 lbs (0.62 kg). Channel mounting accessories are 1455TBOLT (T-bolt, M8 x 20), 1455TNUT (T-nut, M8), 1455TSNUT (T-nut with spring, M8) and 1455NCFL (flange brackets).
