Hammond 1455N2201BU 220x103x53mm Blue Aluminum Enclosure, Metal Ends

The 1455N2201BU is a blue anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure measuring 220 mm x 103 mm x 53 mm (8.66 in x 4.06 in x 2.09 in), fitted with metal end panels. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need to house a PC board or interface equipment in a rugged metal case. At 220 mm long it is the longest 103 x 53 mm body in the ordering table, giving room for a board up to 219 mm x 99 mm.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm), and PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the enclosure body. The drawing notes the extrusion is designed for a 100 mm wide PC board; the box is made from extruded aluminum 6063. This size appears in the manufacturer's table of enclosures with a sliding plate, so the base includes a removable sliding plate.

As a metal end plate version, the 1455N2201BU includes two flat aluminum end panels color matched to the blue housing, two open plastic bezels in black, four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive (black screws on this blue finish). Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The drawing lists the bezels as polycarbonate. The drawing also shows optional 1455NF flange end panels for this body.
