Hammond 1441-15 10x6x1 in ASA 61 Grey Steel Chassis, 20 Gauge

The 1441-15 is a 10 in x 6 in x 1 in (254 mm x 152 mm x 25 mm) steel chassis finished in ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint. It is the ASA 61 grey version of this size; the same chassis is offered in satin black as 1441-15BK3. It suits electronics hobbyists, audio and tube-equipment builders, and OEM engineers who need an open-bottom metal base for mounting components.

Construction is spot welded, heavy-duty 20 gauge steel; the drawing specifies 0.036 in steel for both the chassis and the optional bottom plate. The inner box measures 252.17 mm [9.93 in] long, 150.57 mm [5.93 in] wide and 23.57 mm [.93 in] high, which is the space available for transformers, boards and wiring. Shipping weight is 1.1 lbs (0.50 kg).

With a height of just 1 in, this is a low-profile version of the 10 in x 6 in footprint; it shares its bottom panel and perforated cover part numbers with the 2 in tall 1441-16 size. All components are sold separately. The matching ASA 61 grey bottom panel is 1431-16 (1431-16BK3 in the other finish); bottom plates are punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter and the chassis includes 1/8 in holes to accept them. A ASA 61 grey perforated chassis cover, 1451-16, is listed for this size (1451-16BK3 in satin black).
