Hammond 1437D 4-Hole 30.5mm 10 x 4 in Type 12 Pushbutton Enclosure

The 1437D is a compact operator station from the 1437 Series Type 12 Mild Steel Pushbutton Enclosures, Extra Deep, punched with 4 holes sized for 30.5mm pushbuttons. It is designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights, giving machine builders, panel shops, electricians and OEM engineers a ready-made housing for operator controls where the enclosure must provide protection from dirt, dust, oil and water.

Construction is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The cover is secured with captive cover screws that fasten into threaded, sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive seals the joint. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.

The enclosure measures 10.00 in (254 mm) high by 4.00 in (102 mm) wide by 4.75 in (121 mm) deep (extra deep profile), listed as 10 in x 4 in x 4.75 in (254 mm x 102 mm x 121 mm). Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg). As one of the larger sizes in the series, it has an internally hinged removable cover designed to hold the cover open during wiring.

Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Enclosure 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54; appropriate components are required to maintain these standards. The 1437D carries UL File E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001, and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
