Hammond 1427S 4.0" Chrome Steel Chassis Handle, 1.50" Deep, 8-32

The 1427S is a round steel chassis handle with 4.00 in (102 mm) mounting hole centers and a Bright Chrome Plated finish. It is a single pull handle for equipment chassis, front panels and drawers, suited to OEM engineers, panel builders and integrators who need a steel handle on chassis, panel or drawer hardware. It is sold individually and ships as a kit with its mounting hardware.

The handle is formed from round CR steel with a 0.25 in (6 mm) diameter and carries the Bright Chrome Plated finish. Compared with the 1427S2 (1.75 in depth) and the 1427S3 (0.31 in rod, 10-32 screws), the 1427S keeps the 4.00 in centers with a 1.50 in depth, a 0.25 in rod and 8-32 screws.

Per the series table the handle has 4.00 in (102 mm) mounting hole centers, a 1.50 in (38 mm) handle depth and is listed against an 8.75 in (222 mm) panel height. The part page gives an overall size of 1.5 in x 4.25 in x 0.25 in (38 mm x 108 mm x 6 mm) (H x W x D), and the drawing shows an overall length of 107.95 mm [4.250 in]. Shipping weight is 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg).

Each end of the handle is tapped 8-32 UNC-2B x 14.27 mm [0.562 in], and the kit includes 2 Panhead 8-32 x 1/2" screws and 2 internal tooth lockwashers, so it fastens from behind the panel through two holes drilled at 4.00 in centers. The 1427S is listed as REACH compliant and RoHS compliant.
