Hammond 1427BCGM40 32 mm Cable, IP68 M40x1.5 Brass Cordgrip for 22

The 1427BCGM40 is a liquid-tight cable gland (cordgrip) machined in nickel plated brass with an M40x1.5 metric thread. It is used wherever a cable enters or leaves an enclosure, making it a practical choice for panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers sealing larger cables into control boxes and junction enclosures.

This size clamps cable from 22 mm (0.87 in) up to 32 mm (1.26 in) in diameter. An NBR (nitrile rubber) seal and a large opening let it accept a wide range of cable diameters, while the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring so the cable is held firmly without being twisted or damaged. The manufacturer recommends choosing the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that will fit your cable.

The 1427BCGM40 installs in a 40 mm (1.57 in) mounting hole. Its outer length (L) is 37 mm (1.46 in) and the inner thread length (T) is 8 mm (0.31 in). A locknut and an EPDM o-ring are included. As a guide, the sealing nut torque for M40 is 17–19 N-m and the locknut torque is 15–18 N-m; actual values can vary with the application.

The series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with protection to IP68, is UL listed, and works from -40C to +100C with temporary heat resistance up to 120C. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag at 0.47 lbs (0.21 kg).
