The 1427BAILKIT3 is a complete chassis tilt bail kit designed for half-width RM_U series rackmount enclosures, specifically the RM_U08* chassis with an 8.30 in (211 mm) width. It serves either as a tilt bail that props the enclosure up at an angle on a bench, or as a carrying handle, making it a practical add-on for OEM engineers and integrators building bench-top or portable instruments in RM enclosures.
The kit pairs two side sections molded from tough black polycarbonate with a straight handle section of extruded aluminum. The aluminum is black anodized and pre-cut to fit the RM_U08* enclosure, so no cutting is needed. The bail rotates and locks in 30 degree increments, giving 12 detent positions for setting the viewing or working angle.
Everything needed for installation ships in the bag:
- 2 bails in black polycarbonate
- 1 handle in black anodized aluminum extrusion
- 2 #8 x 3/4" AB type screws and 2 black cap covers
- 4 M3 x 10 screws and 4 #4 locktooth washers
- Instructions and a drilling template
Installation requires drilling four mounting holes into the sides of the enclosure, using the included template to locate them. The enclosure itself is not included. Note that this kit is not designed to be compatible with the RMC series of rackmount enclosures; for full-width RM_U19* enclosures, the series offers a separate complete kit.
