The 1422MD320 is the deeper three-door model in the 1422 MD Series: 86.12 in high, 112.00 in wide and 20.12 in (511 mm) deep. It keeps the same footprint width as the 1422MD3 but adds depth for larger components, giving control panel builders a single freestanding Type 12 housing for electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments.
It is formed from 10 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Heavy duty body stiffeners provide extra rigidity and reinforced eyebolts are provided for lifting. The enclosure is phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating, and the removable inner panels are finished in white powder coating.
The 1422MD320 includes two removable 10 gauge inner panels, one 78.00 x 70.00 in and one 78.00 x 34.00 in (H x W), mounted on panel supports and collar studs. Double door openings use gasketed overlapping doors, so no center post is needed. Secondary doors have a mechanical interlock and cannot be opened unless the main door is open. Doors are continuously hinged, removable by pulling the hinge pin, and secured with a three point padlocking handle; latch rods have rollers and the oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured.
The drawing shows a door opening height of 79.38 in and a usable depth of 18.92 in. The enclosure carries UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12 ratings (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54. A grounding stud is provided for each door, with a bonding stud on the door and a literature pocket inside. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships boxed at 1850 lbs (839.15 kg).
