Hammond 1422E20 72x60x20 Type 12 Two-Door Enclosure, No Feet

The 1422E20 is a Type 12 mild steel two-door enclosure in the 1422 FM Series, measuring 72.13 in high, 60.06 in wide and 20.69 in deep. It is the version without floor stands: welded brackets are provided so the body can be fixed in place. Panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers use it to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments where a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water is needed.

Construction is formed mild steel in combination 10/12 gauge, as specified for the 72 in high enclosures, with smooth continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Body stiffeners add rigidity and heavy duty lifting eyebolts are provided with reinforced support angles. The enclosure is phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The two gasketed overlapping doors eliminate the need for a center post, leaving a door opening of 57.31 in wide by 69.38 in high on the drawing and a usable depth of 19.98 in. Doors are continuously hinged and can be removed by pulling the hinge pin; they are secured by a three point latch operated by a key locking, padlockable handle, and the latch rods have rollers for easier closing. Oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. A removable 10 gauge inner panel measuring 68.00 in (1727 mm) high by 56.00 in (1422 mm) wide is included, finished in white powder coating, with panel supports and collar studs for easy installation.

Without feet, it mounts via welded brackets; the drawing shows 0.44 in diameter mounting holes. The floor-standing equivalent is 1422E20F. The enclosure carries UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12 ratings (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54. It is REACH and RoHS compliant, includes a grounding stud for each door, a bonding stud on the door, a literature pocket and provision for a light kit, and ships on a skid at 666 lbs (302.09 kg).
