Hammond 1422B16F 60x48x16 in Type 12 Two-Door Enclosure with Feet

The 1422B16F is a 60 x 48 x 16 in nominal NEMA Type 12 two-door enclosure from the 1422 FM Series, designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments where a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water is needed. It stands on 12 in floor stands welded to the enclosure and sits directly on the floor. It suits panel builders and OEM engineers laying out 48 in wide two-door control panels.

It is a 60 in high size formed from 12 gauge steel, supplied with a removable 10 gauge inner panel and panel supports for easier panel installation. Seams are continuously welded without knockouts or holes, body stiffeners add rigidity, and heavy duty lifting eyebolts are provided with reinforced support angles. The enclosure and cover are phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coat, while the inner panel is white powder coat.

Overall size is 60.13 x 48.06 x 16.69 in (1,527 x 1,221 x 424 mm) and the included inner panel is 56.00 x 44.00 in. The 16 in nominal depth gives extra room for bulky devices and wiring; the drawing shows 16.04 in of usable depth and a door opening of 45.31 in wide by 57.38 in high. With the floor stands the drawing gives an overall height of 72.13 in. Shipping weight is 502 lbs (227.70 kg), shipped on a skid.

Gasketed overlapping doors remove the need for a center post. The continuously hinged doors lift off by pulling the hinge pin and close on a three point latch with roller-equipped latch rods, operated by a key locking, padlockable handle. Oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. Inside are inner panel collar studs, light kit mounting provision, grounding and bonding studs, and a literature pocket.

The 1422B16F is listed to UL 508A Type 12 (UL file E65324) and CSA Type 12 (certificate LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the series is covered by a declaration of conformity to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
