Hammond 1421 10-32 Rack Screw Kit, 4 Screws With Metal Washers

Hammond 1421 is a small hardware kit containing four 10-32 rack screws and four nickel-plated steel cup finishing washers, supplied in a clamshell package. It is intended for AV integrators, broadcast and studio technicians, telecom installers, OEM assemblers and maintenance staff who need to mount equipment to standard threaded rack rails and want a finished, professional appearance.

The screws are 0.625" long machine screws with UNF-2A (10-32) threads, made from heat-treated low-carbon steel to the ANSI B18.6.3 standard and nickel-plated. The oval countersunk head seats into the matching metal cup washer to create the classic finished look traditionally used in audio, broadcast, telecommunications and industrial rack installations. A slotted and Phillips combination drive lets the screws be driven with common hand tools.

The included cup washers are constructed of nickel-plated steel and are designed for oval-head screws. They distribute tightening force evenly over a larger area, which helps reduce the chance of marking equipment faceplates during installation.

With four screws and four washers, 1421 suits a single piece of rack equipment, a spot repair or replacement of worn or missing rack hardware. The same kit is offered in 25, 50 and 100-piece packages for larger deployments, and replacement metal and nylon cup washers are available separately for service work.
