Hammond 1418YW20 90x24x20 Tall Freestanding Type 12 Enclosure

The Hammond 1418YW20 is a NEMA Type 12 mild steel freestanding enclosure from the 1418 FS Series that is a tall, narrow single access model: 90.06 in high, 24.06 in wide and 20.06 in deep. It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls, with provision for panel mounting or rack mounting of equipment, for control panel builders and OEM engineers.

The body measures 90.06 in x 24.06 in x 20.06 in (2,288 mm x 611 mm x 510 mm) (H x W x D), with a door opening of 21.31 in wide by 79.31 in high on the manufacturer drawing. The 90.06 in height gives a much taller door opening than the 72-inch models while the 24.06 in width keeps the footprint narrow. Shipping weight is 340 lbs (154.22 kg), and the unit ships on a skid.

Construction is formed 12 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The door is supported on a heavy gauge continuous hinge and secured with a three point latch operated by a key locking automotive type handle; latch rods carry rollers for easier closing, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. Lifting eyes simplify handling, and the enclosure is phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating. A literature pocket is provided on the inside of the door.

Mounting channels welded inside the enclosure accept optional inner panels or rack equipment rails; the matching optional full height/full width panel for this size is 90YWFW. With the inner panel in the full back position, maximum usable depth from the inside surface of the front door to the front face of a full width panel is 19.80 in. A grounding stud is provided in the enclosure and a bonding stud on the door, and there is provision for light kit mounting. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 12 (CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529, IP54, protecting against falling dirt, dust, oil and water.
