Hammond 1418YD36 72x36x36 Dual Access Freestanding Type 12 Enclosure

The Hammond 1418YD36 is a NEMA Type 12 mild steel freestanding enclosure from the 1418 FS Series that is the largest 72-inch-tall dual access size: 36.06 in wide by 36.06 in deep with front and rear doors. It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls, with provision for panel mounting or rack mounting of equipment, for control panel builders and OEM engineers.

The body measures 72.06 in x 36.06 in x 36.06 in (1,830 mm x 916 mm x 916 mm) (H x W x D), with a door opening of 33.31 in wide by 61.31 in high on the manufacturer drawing. It combines the full 36.06 in depth with two-sided access, useful where equipment is mounted from both the front and the back. Shipping weight is 495 lbs (224.53 kg), and the unit ships on a skid.

Construction is formed 12 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Each door is supported on a heavy gauge continuous hinge and secured with a three point latch operated by a key locking automotive type handle; latch rods carry rollers for easier closing, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. Lifting eyes simplify handling, and the enclosure is phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating. Two literature pockets are provided on this dual access unit.

Mounting channels welded inside the enclosure accept optional inner panels or rack equipment rails; the matching optional full height/full width panel for this size is 72YFW. A grounding stud is provided in the enclosure and a bonding stud on the door, and there is provision for light kit mounting. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 12 (CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529, IP54, protecting against falling dirt, dust, oil and water.
