The 1418W36 is a 72 x 24 x 36 in nominal (72.06 x 24.06 x 36.06 in, 1,830 x 611 x 916 mm) NEMA Type 12 freestanding enclosure, the deepest single access 24 in wide model in the series. It offers 35.80 in of maximum usable depth for deep panel or rack-mounted equipment.
The body is formed 12 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Doors hang on heavy gauge continuous hinges and are secured by a three point latch operated with a key locking automotive type handle; the latch rods have rollers for easier closing. Oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured, and lifting eyes make the enclosure easier to handle.
Mounting channels are welded inside for optional inner panels or rack equipment rails; the listed optional full height, full width panel for this size is 72WFW. Per the drawing, the door opening is 21.31 x 61.31 in. There is provision for light kit mounting, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a bonding stud on the door, and a door literature pocket. Maximum usable depth is 35.80 in. The cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coat.
