Hammond 1418N4S16S16 48x36x16 In Deep 316 Stainless Type 4X Enclosure

The 1418N4S16S16 is the deepest 48 in x 36 in option in the 1418 N4 SS Series, measuring 48 in H x 36 in W x 16 in D (1,219 x 914 x 406 mm). Built from formed 14 gauge 316 stainless steel, it suits bulky control gear, instrumentation and terminal wiring that must be housed where equipment is hosed down, stays very wet, or faces serious corrosion.

The drawing lists 16.17 in of usable depth and a 33.25 in x 45.25 in door opening. A removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 45.00 in x 33.00 in (1,143 x 838 mm) is included; it is finished in white powder coating and attaches to collar studs so it can be pulled for bench wiring.

The enclosure uses smooth, continuously welded seams without knockouts, cutouts or holes, and a formed lip on door and body excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. The door, fitted with a stiffener per the drawing, swings on a stainless steel continuous hinge with a removable pin, seals on a seamless poured-in-place gasket and is secured by stainless steel clamps with padlocking provision. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a door literature pocket are provided.

Welded brackets mount it to the wall, with 0.44 in holes on 30.00 in x 49.25 in spacing per the drawing. Cover and enclosure have a natural, smooth brushed stainless finish. The series is UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1418N4S16S16 ships at 205 lbs (92.99 kg).
