Hammond 1418N4S16P8 42x36x8 In 316 Stainless Type 4X Wall Enclosure

The 1418N4S16P8 is a Type 4X wallmount enclosure from the 1418 N4 SS Series, built from formed 14 gauge 316 stainless steel and sized at 42 in H x 36 in W x 8 in D (1,067 x 914 x 203 mm). It is intended for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures where equipment may be hosed down, kept very wet, or exposed to serious corrosion.

The body has smooth, continuously welded seams with no knockouts, cutouts or holes, and a formed lip on both the door and enclosure keeps flowing liquids and contaminants out. The door rides on a stainless steel continuous hinge that can be removed by pulling the hinge pin, closes with stainless steel clamps against a seamless poured-in-place gasket, and has provision for padlocking. At this size the drawing shows a door stiffener for added rigidity.

Inside, a removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 39.00 in x 33.00 in (991 x 838 mm) is included, finished in white powder coat and mounted on collar studs. The drawing lists a 33.21 in x 39.21 in door opening and 8.17 in of usable depth. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket inside the door round out the fit-out.

Welded brackets handle wall mounting, with 0.44 in holes on 30.00 in x 43.25 in spacing. The series carries UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 ratings and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1418N4S16P8 ships boxed at 177 lbs (80.29 kg).
