Hammond 1418N4KR8 24x30x8 in NEMA 4 Wallmount Enclosure with Panel

The 1418N4KR8 is a Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosure from the 1418 N4 Series, measuring 24 in x 30 in x 8 in (610 mm x 762 mm x 203 mm). It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure, and protects equipment where it may be hosed down or otherwise very wet, or outdoors for full weather protection. Unusually for the series it is wider than it is tall: 24 in high by 30 in wide, with a 21 x 27 in (H x W) inner panel suited to long horizontal component rows.

The body and door are formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A stainless steel continuous hinge carries the door and can be removed by pulling its stainless steel hinge pin; the door is secured with stainless steel clamps and has provision for padlocking. A seamless poured-in-place gasket and formed lips exclude flowing liquids and contaminants.

Inside, a removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 21.00 in (533 mm) high by 27.00 in (686 mm) wide mounts on collar studs. The drawing shows a door opening of 27.24 x 21.22 in (W x H), with a usable depth of 8.06 in shown on the drawing. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket on the inside of the door are included, and welded brackets are provided for mounting the enclosure to a wall.

The enclosure and cover are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coat, with the inner panel in white. The series is listed to UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 12 and 4 (UL File E65324, CSA Cert. LR21001) and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1418N4KR8 ships in a box at 77 lbs (34.93 kg). The 1418 N4 Series is being discontinued in favour of the 1418LP Series; availability is limited to inventory on hand.
