Hammond 1418N4B6 16x12x6 in Type 4 Steel Wallmount Enclosure with Panel

The 1418N4B6 is a 16 x 12 x 6 in (406 mm x 305 mm x 152 mm) Type 4 mild steel wallmount enclosure from the Hammond 1418 N4 Series, supplied with a removable inner panel. It is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, including locations that may be hosed down or very wet and outdoor applications needing full weather protection. The 1418N4B6 is one of the smallest sizes in the 1418 N4 table at 16 x 12 x 6 in (406 x 305 x 152 mm), a compact choice for a junction box or a small terminal wiring enclosure.

Construction uses formed 14 gauge steel for the body and door, with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the opening. The stainless steel continuous hinge allows the door to be removed by pulling the hinge pin, stainless steel clamps secure it, and there is provision for padlocking. The cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Included is a removable 12 gauge inner panel measuring 13 x 9 in, finished in white powder coating and mounted on collar studs. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket inside the door are also provided. Welded brackets with Ø 0.44 in holes handle wall mounting.

The 1418N4B6 is listed to UL 508A Type 3R, 12, 4 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 12, 4 (CSA LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. Shipping weight is 27 lbs (12.25 kg), packed in a box. Note that the 1418 N4 Series is being discontinued and replaced by the 1418LP Series, so availability is limited to inventory on hand.
