Hammond 1418N4ALS8 48x36x8 In Type 4X Aluminum Wallmount Enclosure

The 1418N4ALS8 is a 48 x 36 x 8 in (1219 x 914 x 203 mm) Type 4X aluminum wallmount enclosure with a continuous hinge door fastened by aluminum clamps. One of the two largest faces in the 1418 N4 AL series, it gives panel builders a wide, tall layout area at 8 in deep for control systems in wet or corrosive locations.

The body is 0.081 in and the door 0.100 in Type 5052 H-32 aluminum, with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The door is secured with aluminum clamps, has provision for padlocking, and comes off by pulling the aluminum hinge pin. The removable 12 gauge steel inner panel is white powder coated and mounts on collar studs; the door carries a literature pocket and bonding stud, with a grounding stud in the enclosure.

The 1418N4ALS8 is 48 in x 36 in x 8 in (1,219 mm x 914 mm x 203 mm) (H x W x D). A removable 45.00 x 33.00 in (1143 x 838 mm) steel inner panel is included, and the drawing shows a door stiffener on this size. For layout, the manufacturer drawing shows an overall height of 50.25 in including the mounting brackets and an overall depth of 9.22 in, a 45.22 x 33.22 in door opening and 8.10 in of usable depth. Mounting holes are 0.44 in diameter, and the shipping weight is 108 lbs (48.99 kg).

The series is listed to UL 508A Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and CSA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP66.
