Hammond 1418JB7 16x12x7 Type 12 Wallmount JIC Enclosure with Panel

The Hammond 1418JB7 is a NEMA Type 12 mild steel wallmount enclosure (large JIC style) from the 1418J Series that is the smallest size in the 1418J Series at 16 x 12 x 7 in, a compact starting point for small control and instrument builds. It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments, and is aimed at control panel shops, OEM machine builders and maintenance electricians.

The enclosure measures 16 in x 12 in x 7 in (406 mm x 305 mm x 178 mm) (H x W x D) and includes a removable 12 gauge inner panel of 13 x 9 in (330 mm x 229 mm), finished in white powder coating. Its included 13 x 9 in inner panel gives a compact mounting surface for smaller control layouts. The drawing shows a door opening 11.86 in wide by 14.73 in high and a usable depth of 5.75 in. Shipping weight is 30 lbs (13.61 kg), packed in a box.

The body is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The continuously hinged cover is secured with plated screws threaded into sealed wells, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. Collar studs are provided for mounting the inner panel, a bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure, and a literature pocket sits on the inside of the door. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating.

Welded brackets provide for wall mounting of the 1418JB7. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 (UL File E65324) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529, IP54, providing a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.
