Hammond 1418J16LP 24x24x16 Inch Deep Type 4/12 Wallmount Enclosure

Part number 1418J16LP is a 24 x 24 x 16 in (610 x 610 x 406 mm) wallmount enclosure from the 1418LP series: formed mild steel, rated Type 4/12, and shipped without an inner panel. It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, as an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, or as a junction box or terminal wiring enclosure where equipment may be hosed down, get very wet, or need full weather protection outdoors.

Its square 24 x 24 in face and a generous 16 in (406 mm) depth give a door opening of 21.25 x 21.25 in (H x W) and 16.00 in of usable depth. The door itself measures 22.19 x 22.21 in (W x H), with a 21.00 x 21.05 in clear area available on the door. Shipping weight is 71 lbs (32.21 kg).

Bodies and doors are formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on both door and body excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the door. The stainless steel continuous hinge can be removed by pulling its stainless hinge pin, and easily operated stainless steel clamps close the door, with provision for padlocking. Cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Welded brackets with 0.44 in holes provide for wall mounting, collar studs accept an optional inner panel, and a grounding stud in the enclosure plus a bonding stud on the door serve bonding and grounding. The inner panel is sold separately: specify 18P2121 (white) or 18G2121 (galvanized), each 21 x 21 in (533 x 533 mm). A literature pocket is provided inside the door.
