Hammond 1418C8LP 20x16x8 In NEMA 4/12 Wallmount Enclosure, Less Panel

The 1418C8LP is a 20 x 16 x 8 in portrait wallmount enclosure from the 1418LP series, rated NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and supplied less inner panel. It is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, where equipment may be hosed down, very wet, or installed outdoors.

Body and door are formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on the door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, and a seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the opening. The door rides on a stainless steel continuous hinge and can be removed by pulling the stainless steel hinge pin.

Stainless steel clamps secure the door, and there is provision for padlocking. Inside, collar studs accept an optional inner panel measuring 17 x 13 in (432 x 330 mm): order 18P1713 for white or 18G1713 for galvanized. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket inside the door are provided, and the cover and body are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The manufacturer drawing shows a 13.25 x 17.25 in (W x H) opening with the door removed, 8.00 in of usable depth and an overall depth of 9.21 in including the door. With a 20 x 16 in face and 8 in depth, the 1418C8LP offers a middle-ground depth for control housings in the 20 x 16 family.

Welded brackets provide for wall mounting, with 0.44 in holes on a 10.00 x 21.25 in pattern and an overall height of 22.25 in including brackets. The 1418C8LP complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, is listed under UL File E65324, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and has a shipping weight of 32 lbs (14.51 kg).
