Hammond 1418A8 12x24x8" Hinged Wallmount Enclosure, Inner Panel

The 1418A8 is a Type 12 mild steel wallmount enclosure from the 1418 Series, measuring 12 x 24 x 8 in (305 mm x 610 mm x 203 mm), wider than it is tall. It is designed to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments, and provides a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water. The door is continuously hinged and secured with easily operated stainless steel clamps, with provision for padlocking.

Bodies and doors are formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A formed lip on the door and enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants, oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured, and the door can be removed by pulling the hinge pin. The enclosure is finished inside and outside in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating. A bonding stud is on the door, a grounding stud is in the enclosure, and a literature pocket is provided for the inside of the door.

A removable 12 gauge inner panel, 9.00 in (229 mm) high by 21.00 in (533 mm) wide and finished in white powder coating, is included and mounts on collar studs. The manufacturer drawing shows a door opening of 9.22 in x 21.22 in (H x W) and clear space available on the door of 8.95 in x 20.94 in (H x W). The same 12 x 24 in face size is also listed in the series as 1418A6 (6 in deep). 1418AR8 is the 24 x 12 in counterpart with height and width swapped.

Welded brackets provide for wall mounting, with 0.44 in diameter mounting holes on the drawing. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and 13 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 12 and 13 (Cert. LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. Shipping weight is 38 lbs (17.24 kg). Note: the manufacturer is discontinuing the 1418 Series in favour of the 1418LP Series, and availability of individual part numbers is limited to inventory on hand.
