The 1416M is a Type 1 mild steel component case with a ventilated cover held by screws, measuring 12 in x 8 in x 8 in (305 mm x 203 mm x 203 mm) H x W x D. It is designed to provide mechanical protection for components requiring ventilation and is suitable where heat dissipation is required, making it a fit for electricians, OEM engineers and panel builders housing heat-producing devices indoors.
At 12 x 8 x 8 in it is the largest of the square-section cases in the 1416 Series before the range moves to a 10 in width.
The base is formed from 16 gauge steel with two 0.5"/0.75" conduit knockouts located in each end, and four .125" high raised dimples with mounting holes are provided on the base. The cover is formed from 18 gauge steel with 0.235" x 1.5" ventilating slots. Screw holes and offsets in the cover allow easy assembly.
Base and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The 1416M complies with NEMA Type 1, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships in a box at 6.37 lbs (2.89 kg).
