Hammond 1414PHM6 14x12x6" Continuous Hinge Steel Junction Box

The 1414PHM6 is a Type 12 mild steel junction box from the 1414 PH Series measuring 14 x 12 x 6 in (356 mm x 305 mm x 152 mm). Its cover is continuously hinged and closed with stainless steel clamps and plated steel screws, and the body is taller than it is wide. It is designed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure, and provides a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.

Construction follows the series specification: a body formed from 16 gauge or 14 gauge steel, a 14 gauge steel cover, and smooth, continuously welded seams without knockouts, cutouts or holes. A seamless poured-in-place gasket seals the cover. The cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure.

Inside, the 1414PHM6 includes a removable 14 gauge inner panel measuring 12.75 in (324 mm) high by 10.88 in (276 mm) wide, finished in white powder coating and mounted on internal threaded weld studs. The manufacturer drawing shows a door opening of 13.30 in x 11.30 in (H x W) and a usable depth of 5.35 in, with clear space available on the door of 13.08 in x 11.08 in (H x W). The same 14 x 12 in face size is also listed in the series as 1414PHM8 (8 in deep). 1414PHRM6 is the 12 x 14 in counterpart with height and width swapped.

Welded brackets are provided for mounting the enclosure, with 0.31 in diameter mounting holes shown on the drawing. The series is listed to UL 508A Type 12 and 13 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 12 and 13 (Cert. LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships in a box at a shipping weight of 19 lbs (8.62 kg).
