Hammond 1414PHC4 6x4x4 in Type 12 Hinged Junction Box with Panel

The 1414PHC4 is a 6 x 4 x 4 in (152 x 102 x 102 mm) Type 12 mild steel junction box from the 1414 PH Series, with a continuously hinged cover secured by stainless steel clamps and plated steel screws. It is intended for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that need a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.

The 1414PHC4 keeps the narrow 6 x 4 in face of the 1414PHC but is 4 in deep, raising usable depth to 3.35 in over the same 4.88 in x 2.88 in inner panel.

The body is formed from 16 gauge or 14 gauge steel and the cover from 14 gauge steel, with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. A seamless poured-in place gasket seals the cover. A removable 14 gauge inner panel mounts on internal threaded weld studs and is finished in white powder coating. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating.

Per the drawing, the 1414PHC4 has a door opening of 3.30 in wide x 5.30 in high, 3.35 in of usable depth, and 5.09 in x 3.10 in of clear space available on the door. Welded brackets with 0.31 in mounting holes provide for enclosure mounting, and a bonding stud on the door plus a grounding stud on the body simplify grounding. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).

Ratings: UL 508A Type 12, 13; CSA Type 12, 13; complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529, IP54. RoHS and REACH compliant. It carries UL File E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001, and the series is covered by an EU declaration of conformity to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
