Hammond 1414C4 6x4x4 Type 12 Steel Junction Box, Lift-Off Cover

The 1414C4 is a 6 x 4 x 4 in (152 x 102 x 102 mm) Type 12 junction box in mild steel with a clamped lift-off cover. It keeps the narrow 4 in width of the 1414C but adds depth, which helps when DIN-style terminals or small control devices need more room.

The body is formed from 16 or 14 gauge mild steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The 14 gauge lift-off cover is secured with stainless steel clamps and plated steel screws, sealed by a seamless poured-in place gasket, and retained with a plated chain when open so it stays with the box during service. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting.

A removable 4.88 x 2.88 in (124 x 73 mm) 14 gauge inner panel is included, and the drawing shows 3.35 in of usable depth, a full inch more than the 3 in deep 1414C. The panel mounts on internal threaded weld studs. Additional inner panels, a swing panel kit, terminal kit assemblies and door clamping hardware are listed as accessories.

The 1414 Series is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 12 and 13 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54, giving a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating, a bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
