Hammond 1414C 6x4x3 Type 12 Steel Junction Box, Lift-Off Cover

The 1414C is a 6 x 4 x 3 in (152 x 102 x 76 mm) Type 12 mild steel junction box with a lift-off cover and clamps, and it is the smallest 1414 model supplied with an inner panel. It suits control builders who need a slim terminal or relay housing on a machine frame or wall.

The body is formed from 16 or 14 gauge mild steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The 14 gauge lift-off cover is secured with stainless steel clamps and plated steel screws, sealed by a seamless poured-in place gasket, and retained with a plated chain when open so it stays with the box during service. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting.

The removable 14 gauge inner panel measures 4.88 x 2.88 in (124 x 73 mm) and is finished in white powder coat. The drawing shows 2.35 in of usable depth and a 3.30 x 5.30 in door opening. The panel mounts on internal threaded weld studs. Additional inner panels, a swing panel kit, terminal kit assemblies and door clamping hardware are listed as accessories.

The 1414 Series is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 12 and 13 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54, giving a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating, a bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
