Hammond 1414A4 4x4x4 Type 12 Steel Junction Box, Lift-Off Cover

The 1414A4 is the 4 in deep version of the smallest 1414 Series box, measuring 4 x 4 x 4 in (102 x 102 x 102 mm). This Type 12 mild steel junction box with a clamped lift-off cover gives an extra inch of depth over the 1414A for bulkier splices, relays or terminal blocks.

The body is formed from 16 or 14 gauge mild steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The 14 gauge lift-off cover is secured with stainless steel clamps and plated steel screws, sealed by a seamless poured-in place gasket, and retained with a plated chain when open so it stays with the box during service. Welded brackets provide for enclosure mounting.

Like the 1414A it has no inner panel (the ordering table lists none), so parts mount directly in the 4 in deep body behind a 3.30 x 3.30 in door opening. Internal threaded weld studs are provided for mounting an inner panel. Additional inner panels, a swing panel kit, terminal kit assemblies and door clamping hardware are listed as accessories.

The 1414 Series is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 12 and 13 and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54, giving a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating, a bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
