Hammond 1411PU 6x5x4" Unpainted Aluminum Utility Case

The 1411PU is a 6 x 5 x 4 in (152 x 127 x 102 mm) utility case from the 1411 series, supplied in unpainted, natural aluminum. It is aimed at electronics hobbyists, OEM engineers and technicians who want a plain metal housing they can drill, mill, paint or label to suit their own project.

The case is a two-piece assembly made up of a bottom and a cover, both formed from 0.04" (1.02 mm) aluminum panels, and it ships with four self-tapping cover screws. Because the aluminum is left unfinished, it is protected through manufacturing and shipping by a plastic film cover that keeps the surface clean and also doubles as a removable drilling template for marking out holes.

The 6 x 5 x 4 inch footprint is close to cubic, and at 4 inches it is one of the deepest cases in the 1411 line, which leaves room for taller components, stacked boards or wiring bundles. The drawing gives overall assembly dimensions of 152.04 x 126.64 x 101.80 mm (5.99 x 4.99 x 4.01 in) and a usable inner box of 150.01 x 121.79 x 99.77 mm (5.91 x 4.80 x 3.93 in) length by width by height. Shipping weight is 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg).

1411PU is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships shrink wrapped. The same size is also offered as 1411P (ASA 61 grey powder coat); 1411FBPBK (black, with wall-mounting flanges) and 1411FBPU (unfinished, with wall-mounting flanges). The enclosure can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing on a quote basis, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES format.
