Hammond 1411FBPU 6×5×4 in Unfinished Flanged Aluminum Utility Case

The 1411FBPU is a flanged utility case in unpainted, natural-finish aluminum from the 1411 series. The flanged bottom provides wall-mounting tabs, making it a practical choice for OEM engineers, electricians and technicians who want a bare-metal enclosure they can drill, mount and finish to suit their project. Nominal size is 6 x 5 x 4 in (152 x 127 x 102 mm).

Construction is two pieces: a flanged bottom and a cover, both made from 0.04" (1.02 mm) aluminum panels. Each purchased assembly includes the flanged bottom, the cover and four self-tapping cover screws. Replacement cover screws are available as 1421J6, a package of six 6-32 x 1/4" plated self-tapping screws, and 1421J6BK supplies the same screws in black.

According to the drawing, the assembled box measures 152.04 mm [5.99 in] long, 126.64 mm [4.99 in] wide and 103.20 mm [4.06 in] high, with an overall length of 180.98 mm [7.13 in] across the flanges. Usable inside space is 150.01 mm [5.91 in] long by 121.79 mm [4.80 in] wide by 101.17 mm [3.98 in] high. Shipping weight is 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg).

Because the aluminum is left unpainted, it is protected through manufacturing and shipping by a plastic film cover that keeps the finish clean and doubles as a removable drilling template. Hammond also offers factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
