The top and bottom halves are steel painted RAL 7032 (listed as gray; the series sheet describes it as beige powder coat). The 1401A drawing specifies a 20 gauge steel body, while the series sheet lists 18 gauge steel top and bottom halves. Front and rear panels are 0.064 in thick aluminum that is easy to machine: the front is finished in textured black and the rear panel is painted RAL 7032 and vented at top and bottom for airflow.
Assembly hardware is included: eight 6-32 Philips nickel plated screws and four self adhesive rubber feet. Extra screws are available as 1421J6, a package of six #6-32 x 1/4 sheet metal screws.
