Hammond 1182E110 30VA Toroid Power Transformer, Dual 110V Secondary

The 1182E110 is a 30VA toroid power transformer from the 1182 Series, built for OEM engineers, panel builders and electronics designers who need a compact, low-profile chassis transformer. It doubles the 15VA 110V model's output to 30VA while keeping the same 110V/220V C.T. secondary options.

The primary is dual 117/234 VAC for 50/60 Hz operation: the two 117V primary windings are connected in parallel for a 117V supply or in series for 234V. The dual secondary can be wired in parallel for 110V @ 272ma or in series for 220V C.T. @ 136ma, and the ordering table lists voltage regulation of 13.10%. All windings are meant to be engaged (series or parallel) or connected as an autotransformer, and a connection sheet is included.

The toroidal core brings a low profile, light weight, cool running and high efficiency, and its shape keeps stray magnetic flux leakage (EMI) low. It has an open center, mechanical dimension reference B, and is manufactured using Class B (130 degree C) materials with a 4,000VAC RMS Hi-Pot test between primary and secondary. Leads come out 8"-9" and are stripped 0.5" min.; primary leads are #20 TEW and secondary leads are #20 TEW. Each unit is supplied with two 0.062" T x 2.50" OD rubber washers; one 18GA x 2.375" OD steel mounting washer; one 10-24 bolt 1.75" long with a lock washer and 10-24 hex nut. The drawing gives a unit weight of 0.94 lbs +/- 4%, and the shipping weight is 1.75 lbs (0.79 kg); the label marks it Made in Canada.

The series is UL recognized to UL 5085-1 and UL 5085-2 (file #E207860), CSA certified to C22.2 #66.1-6 and #66.2-6 (file #209651), and self-declared to applicable sections of IEC/EN61558-1 and IEC/EN61558-2-4; this part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Because toroids draw a high inrush current for up to half a cycle when energized, use a slow-blow fuse, time-delayed circuit breaker or soft-start on the supply line.
