Hammond 1140-LN-E 600 Ohm 1:1 Split-Winding Line Input Transformer

The 1140-LN-E is a 600:600 line input transformer from the 1140 Series with split primary and secondary windings. It is designed for high input levels up to +19 dBu with wide bandwidth and low distortion, and the split windings let it be used in 1:2, 1:1 or 2:1 configurations. That flexibility makes it useful for studio designers and integrators who need one part for several 600 ohm and 150 ohm line tasks.

The rated turns ratio is 1:1. Rated performance is +19 dBu maximum input at 20 Hz, 0.020% THD at 20 Hz and a frequency response of -0.06 dB at 20 Hz and +0.00 dB at 20 kHz. The drawing lists input and output impedances of 150/600, typical 800 primary input and 800 secondary output impedance at 1 kHz and +4 dBu, THD of 0.001% at 1 kHz and 0.03% at 20 Hz (+4 dBu), and 70 dB common mode rejection at 60 Hz and 60 dB at 3 kHz.

Each side has two 150 windings: orange/brown and white/black on the primary, green to green/yellow and red to red/yellow on the secondary. DCR is 27/27 primary and 74/74 secondary at 20 °C. A nickel alloy core and mu metal can provide bandwidth and shielding, with 1.75 nF primary and 2.25 nF secondary capacitance to shield and case and 500 Vrms dielectric strength.

The 1140-LN-E is chassis mounted, RoHS and REACH compliant, made in Canada, and ships at 0.2 lbs (0.09 kg).
